Jordan Russum

Jordan has overseen over $1BB worth real estate transaction volume nationwide within the single family rental industry. Jordan is responsible for selecting markets and properties at Russum Investments. He is currently the General Manager of Institutional Partnerships at Opendoor, where he manages the day to day operations of a team that buys, sells, and brokers 10,000+ homes annually to the largest single family REITS in the United States. Prior to Opendoor, Jordan worked for several successful technology startups, including Square, Zenefits, and Coyote Logistics. He’s an LA native and avid surfer, with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Jordan has been personally investing in real estate since 2016.

Co-Founder & Principal, Operations and Marketing

Emily Meersand Russum

Emily is co-owner and handles operations, including property management, property redesign, marketing, investor relations, and tenant experience at Russum Investments. Emily graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a major in Business-Economics and a specialty in Finance and Accounting. Currently, she is the Director of Global Real Estate Growth & Operations at Sonder. Her 10+ years of experience in growth and operations has assisted in building the operations strategy both on the tenant and investor side at Russum Investments. She designs and oversees all property renovations, while simultaneously ensuring investors stay informed. Additionally, she is a yogi at heart, which is why her priority is ensuring all tenants have an enjoyable living situation in all properties owned and operated by Russum Investments.

Asset Manager

Lily Clayman

Lily joined the team to streamline processes and help with scaling the business by playing a key role as Asset Manager at Russum Investments. As Asset Manager, Lily maintains our bookkeeping and financial data through Stessa, prioritizes critical tasks, and ensures the business is organized. Currently a Senior Project Manager at Idemitsu Renewables, she manages project development, with a focus on siting, interconnection, permitting, and construction, as well as financing and M&A of large utility-scale solar projects. Lily has nearly a decade of experience in Project Management, and currently manages a balance sheet north of $100,000,000. In her free time she enjoys cooking elaborate meals from a variety of cuisines and taking Emily’s yoga classes.

 

Acquisitions

Harmit Randhawa

Harmit joined Russum Investments to help support the business as we scale and acquire more properties for our growing portfolio. Harmit is responsible for property underwriting, acquisitions, and broker communication. Prior to joining Russum Investments, Harmit worked directly with Jordan at Opendoor, where he underwrote and analyzed thousands of homes that were sold to the largest REITs in America. Most recently, Harmit led process optimization and law enforcement operations at Chime in San Francisco. He holds a B.S. in Managerial Economics from University of California, Davis.

 
Steven+Segal

Private Financing

Steven Segal

Steven Segal is an experienced real estate investor in single family rentals, multifamily, commercial, self-storage, and mobile home parks. He has a proven track record of owning and operating an extensive list of successful businesses, including Owner of Marea Capital (a real estate investment company focusing on purchasing and managing self-storage facilities), Owner of Brew City Capital LLC (portfolio of 40+ SFH & commercial units in Milwaukee), Owner of Brew City Lending LLC (private financing for residential investment properties), and Member-Manager of Naples Funding LLC (funding new construction for fix-and-flip investors). Steven is responsible for private lending for the majority of the properties owned and operated by Russum Investments. He has also served as a trusted advisor and confidant to the team at Russum Investments. There’s nothing he enjoys more than a sunset and surfing in his home of Encinitas, California.

SEC Attorney & Legal Advisor

Dugan P. Kelley

Dugan P. Kelley co-founded Kelley Clarke, PLLC and currently serves as the official attorney and legal advisor for Russum Investments. Mr. Kelley chairs his legal firm’s real estate practice group, assisting clients in all phases of multi-family, commercial, and residential acquisitions or sales. Mr. Kelley’s real estate expertise includes transactional services for his clients ranging from commercial loan closings, real estate private equity capital raises, joint venture agreements, commercial leasing, business acquisitions and general commercial real estate services for multi-family syndicators, investors, and developers. Dugan Kelley was introduced to Jordan and Emily at a multifamily investing conference, and they have been working together ever since.

Accountant & Financial Advisor

Justin Goldberg

With over 10 years of real estate tax and accounting experience, Justin was an easy choice to be the dedicated CPA for Russum Investments. One of the best parts about investing in real estate are the tax benefits, and Justin ensures that we maximize all tax perks available to our portfolio. Justin graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors of Science and Masters degrees’ in accounting in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Justin brings extensive expertise in tax and financial accounting, specializing in all business needs. An excellent business adviser, Justin best serves Russum Investments with a trove of sound, knowledgeable tax savings advice to maximize potential while mitigating compliance-related risks. Justin spends his free time with his family and friends and plays an occasional round of golf.

Caleb Davidge

Caleb, a close friend of Jordan & Emily for over 20 years, assists with fundraising at Russum Investments. Caleb assisted in the fundraise for our latest fund, SFR3. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a major in Business-Economics and the school’s unique Technology Entrepreneurship Program. Prior to joining Russum Investments, Caleb founded a CPG company, where he acted as the company’s president for 8 years. This is where he gained deep sales and marketing experience, before the company was acquired by a publicly traded company. His social skills and vast network of high net-worth individuals continue to produce successful partnerships and satisfied investors with Russum Investments.
